Shipping Rates
Shipping rates for all orders (large and small, domestic and international) will depend on the particular options selected by the customer during checkout. We seek to match our freight rates as closely as possible to those that will actually be charged, using the FedEx rate calculator and other established freight rate calculation methods. However, unless the customer calls us to make different arrangements, we only charge the amount shown in the shopping cart at checkout and are not responsible for any differences between the actual and charged rates that may arise.
Sending Small and Large Shipments to Domestic (U.S.) Destinations
We use FedEx for nearly all of our small domestic shipments. In addition to FedEx Ground Residential and FedEx Ground Commercial (both of which can be used to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico), we also offer FedEx 2Day, FedEx Standard Overnight, and FedEx Priority Overnight. All of these are available at checkout. We reserve the right to substitute UPS for FedEx in small areas of the country and in other circumstances where we have found UPS to provide superior service.
For shipments weighing over 130 pounds it may be worth comparing the Fedex Ground/FedEx Home Delivery option with the Commercial Freight Service option, and selecting the one you want. If you specify the latter option, your order will be delivered by a commercial freight service other than FedEx.
Shipment Departure Times
Orders are shipped from our Detroit area warehouse within 2-3 business days of the time they are received. If you need to have your order processed more quickly, please contact us by phone at 508-888-8305.
Comparing FedEx Ground with Higher Priority FedEx Services
The following information helps to compare the results obtainable via FedEx Ground® with those provided by other FedEx services:
If FedEx Ground® picks up a package at our Detroit area warehouse, it will routinely deliver that package within two business days to destinations in the following states: Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
FedEx Ground® deliveries from our Detroit area warehouse will routinely take three business days to reach destinations in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia; four business days to reach destinations in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming; and five business days to reach destinations in the states of Oregon and Washington.
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Canada
All of these areas can be reached either by FedEx Ground or by UPS Canada Ground Standard. Please note that in the case of Canadian shipments the customer is responsible for dealing with Canadian Customs and paying any brokerage fees and customs duties that may arise.
Shipping to International Destinations Other Than Canada and Puerto Rico
These destinations can be reached by US Post Office International Global Express Mail. As with shipments to Canada, the customer is responsible for dealing with customs authorities and paying any brokerage fees and customs duties that arise.
