Minor Parts: Double-Throw Switch
If you wish to electrify all the runs of rope/braid in seasons when the ground is moist, and then to deactivate (ground) every other run in seasons when the ground is dry or frozen, you can do this with a double-throw switch (06-13) connected by hookup wire to the charger’s positive and negative (ground) terminals and to the seasonally activated/deactivated runs of rope/braid as in the graphic above.
Minor Parts: Ground Rods
In any case, regardless of how you wire the fence, you will want at least one ground rod (06-04) and clamp (06-03). If the fence is over a quarter-mile long use three ground rods and clamps spaced about 10 feet apart and wired together. Or else, especially if the fence is much longer than a quarter-mile, take a more aggressive approach: Create alternating positive and grounded (neutral) runs of rope/braid, set in a ground rod and clamp along the fence line every quarter mile, and connect each of these to the lowest neutral (grounded) run of rope/braid with a short length of hookup wire.
