Insulators for Polyropes/braids and Polytapes
A good line insulator for round fiberglass posts and polyrope/braid is 07-04, which can also be used for polywire and polytape up to 1.5 inches wide. If you decide to use 1.5-inch tape your big enemy is the wind, so take several turns on the tape between each set of posts to reduce wind resistance, and space your posts no more than 20 feet apart, rather than the more liberal maximum distance of 35 feet used for polyrope/braid. The big fiberglass corner, gate, and end posts all come with pre-drilled holes, which makes it easy to use corner insulator 07-101.
Minor Parts: Tighteners and Clamps
To join two segments of polyrope/braid use two rope clamps (08-06A, 08-06B, or 08-12B), and to join two segments of electrobraid use two electrobraid split-bolt clamps made for joining copper (02-94A). At end posts and approaches to gates, cut the rope/braid, run the cut end through insulator 07-101 (above), and clamp the returning rope/braid back onto itself with one or two rope clamps or copper split-bolt clamps. In doing this, use the convenient rachet/scissor clamp (02-94B) to tighten the rope/braid to a point where it runs straight along the fence and does not sag.
Minor Parts: Electrical Connectors
These items include a charger to polyrope connector (02-88A), a polyrope to polyrope connector (02-91A), and a connector for joining hookup wire to electrobraid (02-94). If you have an AC-powered charger, go from the charger to the fence with hookup wire. You will not need a charger to rope connector. If you have a battery-powered or solar-powered charger, mount the charger very close to the fence and get from the charger to a suitable run of polyrope/braid with one charger to rope connector (02-88A). If you are running multiple lines of charged rope/braid, join them together with one or more rope to rope connectors (02-91A); and if there are multiple runs of grounded polyrope/braid, join them together with one or more 02-91As. Repeat this joining process (connecting all charged conductors together and all grounded or seasonally grounded conductors together) with more 02-91As after each gate or each additional quarter-mile of fence. If using electrobraid, do the same thing using short segments of hookup wire (02-28 or 02-29) and the electrobraid connector 02-94.
