Corner and End Insulators (Corner Knobs, Tubular Insulator, and Rolling Insulator) for Round Posts and Polyrope, Polywire, and Wire
Some insulators for round conductors are not well-suited to negotiating the conductor around corners or terminating a run of the conductor. In such cases it is convenient to use one of the corner insulators listed here. The three corner knob insulators (products 07-13, 07-13A, and 07-68) have two channels, one for a wire or cord used to attach the insulator to a post (any kind of post), and the other for carrying the conductor. To terminate polyrope or polywire, use one of these corner insulators in combination with a polyrope or polywire clamp (see products 08-06A and 08-12B). Use the economical corner knob 07-13 for polyrope, polywire, and wire where high durability, high-tensile strength, and white color are not needed. Use corner insulator 07-13A for places where you need high durability, high-tensile strength, or the ability to resist extremely low temperatures. And use corner insulator 07-68 where white color is desired or high-tensile strength is needed. Alternatively, one can run a high-tensile or other wire conductor through a tubular insulator (product 07-89) and run the insulator-encased wire behind the post. These tubular insulators are reinforced inside with a metal insert designed to take high-tensile strain. Finally, if one is dealing with a 2-inch fiberglass post, one can use product 07-101 to go around a turn or corner.
