Wood Post Insulators for Round Conductors (general)
The electric fence insulators most often sold today that attach to wood/vinyl posts and are suited to supporting polyrope, polywire, and wire are plastic insulators with small arms for carrying the electric fence conductor. However, various other alternatives exist–including the ring-style and pin-lock insulators offered here. Regarding ends and corners, economical corner knobs provide an easy way of terminating runs of polyrope, polywire, and wire, and also an easy way of negotiating electric fence corners. Simply attach the corner knob to its post with cord or wire, and run the conductor through the other channel in the knob. To terminate a run of polyrope or polywire use a clamp (products 08-06A or 08-12B).
All-Purpose Line Insulators
Dare’s special line insulators for round conductors (products 07-53 and 07-54) have deep arms that are designed to handle quarter-inch polyrope/braid, polywire, and all kinds of smooth wire. The insulators have two holes and can be nailed or screwed onto both wood and vinyl posts (nails not included). Available in white and black, they are suitable for use on high-tensile fences.
We also offer larger and more elegant line insulators (products 07-105B, 07-105W, 07-106B, and 07-106W) that can hold all these conductors plus polyrope/braid up to 3/8 inches in diameter. Made to be nailed or screwed onto wood or vinyl posts and to clip onto 1.25 and 1.33 pound T-posts, they also have a hole at the back that allows them to be wired onto virtually any post. These insulators come with a 10-year warranty. Like 07-53 and 07-54, they are available in white and black and are suitable for use on high-tensile fences.
