Polyrope
Quarter-inch polyropes are less visible than the wide electric fence polytapes; but they are also easier to manage, in some cases less expensive, and in some cases more durable. Most horses are not inclined to challenge electric fences directly, and most learn pretty quickly where an electric fence line runs. So horse owners have learned that these thick round conductors work well, and indeed many of the better electric horse fences, not just temporary horse fences but also permanent ones, use nothing but polyrope.
We offer a number of different polyropes that vary in color, breaking strength, conductivity, and cost. One of these (product 02-95) has tinned copper conductors that can carry a charge long distances. Polyrope 02-23C comes with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects and lightning damage; polyropes 02-27 and 02-59 come with a 2-year warranty; polyrope 02-95 has a 3-year warranty; and polyrope 02-60 has a 5-year warranty. Suggested maximum fence lengths for these products are as follows: 02-57 thru 02-60, 5,000 feet; and 02-95, 3+ miles.
