Electric Fence Testers (Voltage Readers)
An electric fence voltage reader (not an ordinary volt-meter, which won’t work) is an essential tool for anyone who wants to install and maintain an electric fence, because it can be used to tell whether the fence is working. For anything beyond the simplest sort of voltage reader (see product 04-01) that merely tells whether there is voltage on the line, it is advisable to use a voltage reader made by the same company that made your electric fence charger. That’s because the outputs of different companies’ fence chargers have different features that can be read differently by different voltage readers. Products 04-02 and 04-04A read voltages up to 5 kilovolts and 8 kilovolts, respectively, in units of 1,000 volts. Products 04-05 thru 04-07 read voltages up to 10 kilovolts in units of 100 volts and show those readings on digital displays or on a meter.
Electric Fence Diagnostic Tool
Besides measuring voltage on the line, Zareba’s diagnostic tool (product 04-08) measures current and points in the direction of any short. It thus simplifies regular fence line maintenance and saves time.
