All the solar-powered electric fence chargers below (listed in order of the power they put out) are low-impedance electric fence chargers. All these electric fence chargers produce sufficient voltage under normal conditions to shock horses. But the makers of these chargers tend to keep the power down (generally at or below 0.5 joules) to limit the size and cost of the solar panel. The largest solar-powered chargers, while relatively weak compared to the stronger AC-powered models, have enough shocking ability to contain livestock, exclude predators, and deal with moderate weed burdens.
