Parmak Surround EM (EM-200), Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, UL Listed
The EM-200 is a good electric fence charger to use on a short horse fence where neither horse behavior nor weeds is a major issue. Parmak's 14 amp-hour 12-volt AGM battery (01-32 below) should operate this charger for over 3 weeks, and a 12-volt 60 amp-hour battery should run it for three months. We do not offer large “deep cycle” batteries on this website, but they can be obtained at www.ebatteriestogo.com or from any local store that sells boat or golf cart batteries. Voltage data: Despite the fact that the EM-200 and its AC-powered counterpart the HS-100 put out 9600 volts on an open circuit, a minor weed burden offering a 500-ohm path to the ground will cut this voltage down to nearly the 2000 volt minimum needed to reliably shock horses. Other animals: This electric fence charger is useful for containing dogs and also for keeping cats and other small animals out of gardens. General data: The EM-200 features advanced solid-state circuitry and comes with instructions and Parmak’s one-year warranty covering defects and lightning damage. A light shows when the charger and fence system are working properly. This electric fence charger must be installed in a dry location protected from the weather.
