Designed for large acreages and long fences, this charger can deal with a wide range of challenging situations. Suitable for powering very long livestock fences (under ideal conditions up to 180 miles), it will contain virtually any large livestock and will deter predators and other large animals including deer, mountain lions, wolves, bears, and bison. Voltage data: The DE-4000 keeps 4,000 to 6,000 volts on the line (enough to shock any animal) with weed burdens (power drains) ranging from minor (500 ohms) to major (100 ohms). Joule range: This charger generates a pulse of 3 joules on a 500-ohm circuit and a pulse of 11 joules on a 50-ohm circuit. (For more about joules see Charger Safety, Horse Fences, and Joules.) General data: The DE-4000 features all-weather construction, modular circuitry for quick and easy servicing, built-in lightning protection (additional protection with a lightning choke is recommended), and a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects and lightning damage.
