Introduction
The general run of portable paddock/corral electric fences are ideal for carrying in a horse trailer or taking on an overnight trail ride because they are so compact. Typically their main parts are 5 to 10 step-in electric fence posts, a reel of half-inch electric fence polytape, a small electric fence charger, a two-foot ground rod, and some tent pegs. Aside from the 5-foot posts, the whole thing can be put in a bucket and taken anywhere. And it can be set up or dismantled in minutes. Just put the posts in the ground, tap in the 2-foot ground rod, secure the corner posts with tent pegs, string the conductor on the posts, attach the charger, hook in the gate handle, and you’re done.
